Trinette Reed shot this month’s Spa Magazine cover at Mii amo destination spa in Sedona. This spa is one of Trinette’s favorite locations. It is a very special place tucked into a canyon amidst the red rocks of Sedona. Trinette and crew were lucky to spend a week in Sedona shooting for Spa Magazine. It is an inspiring place, very magical setting and the food was fabulous. Mii amo was awarded the best destination spa in the world by Travel & Leisure in 2009. Trinette and crew shot architecture, gourmet food, landscapes, portraits, lifestyle and spa still life. The feature story was about Veronica Cribb who won a week long retreat through a Spa Magazine contest. Lucky girl.

Summer vacation and shooting on location

When John Bean’s kids were younger they referred to his location jobs as vacation jobs. In some respects John’s kids were right, shooting at a beach location can feel like a vacation: There are dinners out every night, there is the smell of sunblock and tropical drinks, there is sunshine and palm trees and noisy birds even in January. Sure, the days are long and the weather and wind can wreak havoc with a busy shoot schedule but a good day on a beach location sure beats most days in the office.

Haiti Relief benefit May 6th, NYC. Rx Haiti

We are so proud that EJ Camp has used her camera in Haiti. I hope we can all give to this very worthwhile effort.

HELPING HAITI: Mick Jagger, L’Wren Scott, Rachel Weisz, Catherine Zeta-Jones and a bevy of other notables will host next week’s Rx Haiti benefit and auction to help provide prosthetics for earthquake victims. Michelle Williams, Sienna Miller, Jude Law, Helmut Lang, Zac Posen and Edie Falco are some of the others rounding up friends for the May 6 event at The Greenhouse, the rooftop garden at Scholastic’s SoHo offices. After seeing firsthand the lack of adequate medical care while pitching in with the relief effort earlier this year, David Colbert, a Manhattan-based internist and dermatologist, decided to try to do something about it. Items up for bid will include pieces from Thakoon, Narciso Rodriguez, Calvin Klein, Fred Leighton and Diana Broussard; photography from Annie Leibovitz, EJ Camp, Sante D’Orazio and Jim Marshall, and art from Elizabeth Peyton, Shawn Dulaney, Rachel Harrison and Chris Martin, among others. Colbert will be offering relief of another kind Saturday at Barneys New York in Beverly Hills when he launches his skin care line.
